ParticipantIs there a way to let the customer get a discount for a specific product only, instead of the whole cart? Our problem is that we sell multiple ticket choices per event and on top of that offer a % discount for groups like students and unemployed. Woocommerce coupons would be the way to go if all the cart items were to be discounted, but there are often cases where the customer is buying both non-discounted and discounted items at the same time.
I understand this needs custom coding, but I was hoping for some pointers on what would be the best way to approach this.

MemberHi Juha!
Thanks for reaching out to us! Let me help you with this topic.
You can actually create WooCommerce coupons to only target specific products by navigating to the Usage Restriction tab when creating the coupon. You can learn more about this here > https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/coupon-management/
Does it help achieve what you are looking for? Let me know about it.

ParticipantUnfortunately no, this would be the same as just creating two tickets in the first place (original and discounted). So we would like to use the coupon to avoid having to create discount price tickets, so to have a normal price ticket and the offer the option to give discount for this.
I’m thinking this could maybe be achieved through using ticket attributes and then coding a solution that calculates the new price based on those, but I have no idea what woocommerce functions to call etc..
Any ideas?

MemberHi Juha!
I’m sorry the coupon features will not work for your case.
Achieving what you are looking for would involve some custom coding, which we unfortunately are limited on how much support we can give for customizations > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/what-support-is-provided-for-license-holders/
Order discounts are all managed on the WooCommerce side, so if you were to build some custom code I’d recommend you reach out to WooCommerce documentation here > https://docs.woocommerce.com/documentation/plugins/woocommerce/
If you think this is a functionality that could also be of use to other users of our plugin, feel free to post the idea in our User Voice > https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas so other can vote for it.
Let me know if you need help to elaborate this idea and I’d be happy to help.
