Different Date Formats

I am trying to get different date formats to display in the photo view and in the single event template. I want the photo view to show an abbreviated date (ex. Mon, Jan 31) and the single event to show the full date (ex. Monday, January 31).

I tried changing the date formats for “Month and Year Format” in the display settings but this changes both photo view and single event template.

Is there any way to have different formats for each?

I would love to help you with this topic.

The correct way to do that would be to use template overrides.
In other words, you can totally have custom coding of how each view looks.

You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

This is the only way to achieve what you are looking for. Otherwise, as you have found out, the date settings impact all views.
