We have been using TEC (version 1.6.5) for a number of years, and just upgraded to the Pro version. As a result, we have a huge number of unneeded venues in our list, including:
    – many that are not needed anymore
    – many duplicates from misspellings, name variations, etc. (one theatre has 20 variations on its name)
I would like to clean this all up.

Is there a way to delete venues that are not currently assigned to a live event?

    Hi,

Thanks for using our plugins. We do not have any coding to delete venues without events. You maybe to write an sql statement to check and do this or you might have to go through and delete the venues you do not want use the bulk editor in the venue list.

    Thanks

If I just deleted all venues, I assume all existing events would just lose their event data, correct?

No the events would not lose the date, times, event content, featured image, or organizers as that data is not saved with the venues. They would lose their locations though.

Sorry yes, that’s what I meant. Thank you, I’ll try to clean up our mess by hand. It’d be a great clean-up feature to have though: purge all unused venues.

Agreed that is a good feature to have for some people.

If you would like to request that feature please head to our UserVoice Page and add your own or upvote that feature as they will increase the chances of it being added to a future version.

I am closing out this ticket, but if you have any other issues related to this or something new, please create a new one.

    Thanks
