ParticipantHello,
After April 1st, our site will no longer have any events on it. However, we’d like to keep the site as an archive for the event happenings. Is there a way to have the list view just default to past events?
The way I have it set up now, you can select “Past Events” from the dropdown: http://www.ggtakeover.com/events/map/?action=tribe_list&tribe_paged=0&tribe_event_display=past So I could potentially just redirect to or somehow use that URL. However, I’m wondering if there’s a better, programmatic way to do this. I did find this — https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/is-it-possible-to-show-past-events-with-most-recent-at-top-as-a-default-view/ — which links to this — https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/show-past-events-in-chronological-order/ But that’s not exactly what I’m asking for. I just want the default view at http://www.ggtakeover.com/events/ to display all events (which will be all past by April 1). Thoughts?
Another, related question: In my dropdown, I also have some of the main categories of the event series. These redirect to URLs like http://www.ggtakeover.com/events/category/kickoff/ However, these only show events of that category that are also upcoming. Is there a URL for showing all events of a certain category even if they’ve passed?

MemberHi,
Thanks for using our plugins. I can help out here.
The entire calendar is built to show upcoming events so we do not have features to do as you describe.
The quickest solution would be to just redirect the main event pages to the past event urls.
Beyond that it would involved a significant customization to change all the views to default to the past events.
That is something we can help answers some questions to help get started, but for the most part beyond the support we can provide.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Thanks
