In Events >> Settings >> Default Content we’ve set the Default Country to be United States. However, upon saving the settings, the description still states “The current default country is: No default set”, even though the United States remains selected in the Default Country dropdown on the settings page. Thus, on both Community Events Submit an Event form and in the WP Post Editor, the Venue Country remains “Select a Country” by default.
We have confirmed this issue occurs on a clean install (Twenty Fifteen, with only TEC, TEC PRO, Community Events and Filter Bar installed, with no modifications).
Please advise how we can resolve this until a patch is released. For the Submit an Event form, is there something we can edit in /module/venue.php to change which country is displayed? In our case we only need the United States as the only country option anyways. Thank you.

Sorry for the issues here.
I took a look on my test site and see what you mean.
I also tested in 3.12 and it did not save for me either.
A minor work around could be in this field: “Use a custom list of countries”
US, United States
That will make sure only the U.S. is in the Country field.
I just created a bug report for this as this is the first instance of it being found so I do not have any other information at this time.
