ParticipantI have purchased two one-site licenses for two sites I’m working on. We have enabled the calendar widget. We have two events on the 4th and the 5th, however when hovering over either day, the link just shows the 4th. Seems to be an issue with the linking from the calendar.
We have tried the default theme and disabled other plugins but the issue persists.
Any idea how to resolve this?

ParticipantHello jocwebsites,
When I go to your (lovely) site and hover and then click on the dates in the calendar, I’m getting a ++1 behavior. When I first land at http://jocwebsite.codeninjasstaging.com/events/ and hover over either the 4th or the 5th, the link the /events/2013-12-04/ shows. If I click on either the hover then switches to /events/2013-12-05/ and every time I click it increments upwards by one, whether there are events that day or not.
Does it do the same for you? You said it only showed the 4th.

ParticipantHey Julie,
Thanks for the response. Can you tell me what browser this is? I’m using Chrome and it’s acting a bit different (acting the same both on the homepage and /events).Today when I tried it it’s doing the same behavior but now showing the 5th so it seems to be linking to todays date regardless of which event you hover over. When I click it brings me to the full event, and then when I hover you’re right, it does show the next day.
It’s pretty weird. Any ideas?

ParticipantI’m going to ask one of the devs to take a peek at this since it seems to be something in the code that’s wonky. Hang on, and they’ll get back to you as soon as they can.

MemberHi jocwebsites: have you modified the widget at all and if so can you share the changes you made? Does this happen even with a default, unmodified theme (and by extension no customized event templates) and no other plugins running?

ParticipantHey Barry,
I didn’t realize that the widget didn’t do this function by default. Is there any way to just have the calendar widget displayed, and have a user click on a date with an event to load the event page without it showing the dates underneath?I mean, instead of having it show the events under the widget, it just links to the event?
Cheers

MemberRight now I’m afraid there is not. You can theoretically set the widget to display 0 events (in the list that appears immediately below it) but that wasn’t actually a design goal and, unfortunately, that aspect of the widget is busted right now.
However, the next maintenance release should remedy that and you will be able to click through to day view.

ParticipantHey Barry,
Thanks for the info. I think i’ll just leave it with the events displaying for now, and when the update comes along we can decide which way we want to go with it.
Much appreciated.
Cheers

MemberThat’s a sensible strategy for sure.
Sorry we can’t offer more in the short-term, but the next maintenance release isn’t too far away as we’re in the final, final testing stage before packaging it for release.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread: thanks for posting 🙂
