ParticipantHey guys,
Do you offer full support of IE9? There is major issue with your datepicker function in that it doesn’t work on IE9 and does on all other browsers. Can I get a ticket opened for this? Keep in mind I’m referring to the demo site. I can provide a screencast/swf to illustrate the issue. Basically when you navigate to http://wpshindig.com/events-calendar-pro/ on IE9 and try to change the date filter, nothing happens. The same thing is happening on my site but I don’t have it on a public url right now. I figured showing you the issue on the demo site should be enough. Thanks,

ParticipantHowdy Jeff,
We do our best to support all major browsers, including IE9 whenever possible. For me the demo site works great in IE9. The page you linked to only actually contains the minicalendar widget, which is working fine for me using Microsoft’s Modern.ie IE9 VM. Furthermore the actual events calendar is working as well. When I go to http://wpshindig.com/events/, click in the Date field, select a date from the drop down, and click Find Events it filters events as expected.
What exactly is not working for you. Can you post a screenshot of this specifically? If it is not happening in Microsoft’s own VMs, perhaps it is something unique to your computer like an additional piece of software that is conflicting? Please let me know. Thanks!

ParticipantI am unable to get the results to change even when I change the month on IE 9.

ParticipantIf you were to click the “Find Events” button to the right, I think you will see it work as expected. I have to do that in my IE9 as well. I realize this is an extra click over some browsers. But, that is part of the reason why we made that button so giant.
IE9 lacks builtin support for much of HTML5 forms, and the datepicker element is new to HTML5. While I can not say with 100% certainty why IE9 is not autosubmitting, if I had to guess it has to do with IE9’s partial support of the standard. In instances like that we, like most developers, will support the browser but of course it will not get to take full advantage of new features.
Does that make sense? Were you able to get it working once you clicked the submit button?

ParticipantYeah that makes sense. It works when I use the find button, but not automatically like I want. I’ll need to find another solution. Thanks.

ParticipantFor sure. After diving into this a bit further it actually has nothing to do with HTML5 elements. In reality we do not support Ajax at all in IE9 and below, mostly because of those browsers lack of support for the History API. In a large part this is because of IE9’s steady decline (it has lost half of its users in the past three months alone), and that major websites like Google & YouTube do not support it at all. While we certainly did not go the YouTube route, we have found the lack of Ajax support to be a reasonable compromise.
