Date Menu Covered up by Main Menu

In the search bar when i click on date, the month menu pops up and is covered by my main menu.
I cant bring it to the top, even when I adjust the z index. Can you offer me some css guidance on this?

I would also like to place a link to “next month” above the calendar instead of below it. Can I do this?

I would also like to have events on the month view calendar be color coded by category, can i do this?

I was able to resolve the css issue. Would still like to know about adjusting the template.

I’m glad you were able to resolve your issue with some CSS.

This may be a theme-related issue, but the first place I’d recommend looking would be your stylesheets and page templates.  Playing around with those settings will alter the appearance of your calendar pages.
