Customizing the events month view – month/content.php

Hi there!

I use visual composer for most of my editing needs. I need to make the calendar month view (../events/month/) easily editable for layout purposes.

I was thinking inserting the calendar month view into a page, but it seems only the mini calendar is available for shortcodes.

What would you suggest in order to make the month view page editable with visual editors such as VC.

It seems silly if I am forced to make overrides when the rest of the page runs on editable items – I can force the VC shortcodes directly unto the overrides anyway, so why not make the page directly editable somehow?

Hi Jens.

Our latest blog post tells of all the shortcode glory coming soon! A look at what’s coming in our 4.3 release

I’m not exactly sure how things will work with the shortcodes, but I can pretty safely tell you that the shortcode implementation will not have any built-in editing integration with Visual Composer or similar plugins.

What kind of overrides were you wanting to see? I can advise on that based on the current version of our software.

Do you need a little guidance how to do overrides, or do you just not want to have to do them that way?

I guess “Full Calendar View Shortcodes” is what will solve this for me. I need a full month calendar I can insert via shortcode in a page that I can edit. Overrides is not a good solution.

So I will wait for the update to land 🙂
