Customizing the Calendar Page

I have an Upcoming Events Page, works great.
I want to add a donate button on that page, but text, images, shortcodes, all are simply ignored. What can I do to add my donate button? I checked this out on different machines and different browsers so I’m certain it’s NOT a local issue.
