MemberHi – it’s basically just the same as overriding and customizing any of our templates – so reading through our Themer’s Guide is the best starting point. In broad outline, though, it would work as follows:
- Grab a copy of views/community/email-template.php (from within the Community Events plugin directory)
- Place the copy in your-theme/tribe-events/community/email-template.php
- Customize away!
Does that help?

MemberOK – what version of Community Events are you using? Is it possible you are one or more versions behind?

Participant3.5 -Community Events and 3.5.2-events calendar PRO…..
totally just realised I’m waaaay outta date….
haha i do apologize guys!
seperate question then;
ive got a HEAP (and i mean HEAP) of customization that ive done in a child theme with the addon….
if i just update the community events and pro addon, will all my customization stay where they are?August 24, 2014 at 10:23 pm #697739Barry
MemberYes – your customizations should be safe 🙂
Do note though that there is always the possibility of custom code written for older versions of the plugin becoming out of date or tripping things up – so if you do hit problems (temporarily) disabling any such tweaks is the best way of determining if that is indeed the problem.
Hopefully, of course, it will be plain sailing.
Good luck!

Participantsweet, seems like now that i am up to date with the plug in that the files sitting in there nice and cosey where its meant to be 🙂
…i do still have a question with this tho,
am i able to put my custom drop down (custom field) in here as well?September 1, 2014 at 7:50 am #715357Barry
MemberYou can definitely override our templates and add additional fields as needed – if you need any more specific guidance please do break your question out into a fresh thread (as we try hard to stick to one-issue-per-thread) and one of the team will be only too happy to help 🙂
Remember also to read through our Themer’s Guide which covers most of the basics for this sort of modification.
Thanks again!
