Customizing Calendar Home Page

I need the ability to customize the calendar home page to include text and an image slider. Not individual event pages, just the main page that shows the full calendar.

I’ve read multiple knowledgebase articles including:

And decided my coding knowledge is not up to par to make these edits.

However, I think I found a work around and want to be sure before I purchase The Events Calendar Pro.
Could I use shortcode to embed my full calendar on an existing page, that way I can edit the sidebar and other content on the page? It would be http://www.lakelandmom.com/calendar and would replace the existing embedded calendar from another plugin.

Yes, you can use the tribe_events shortcode available with Events Calendar PRO to embed a specific calendar view.
