    is it possible to customize the ticket email?

    Yes, you can customize the ticket email by using one of the methods described in our Themer’s Guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/

    Thank you!
    I found out to customize the ticket email with the template /src/views/tickets/email.php.
    Now I would like to display the event excerpt and/or the ticket description in this email.
    Is this possible with php?
    In the themes guide I have not found a list of such functions. Is there one?

    Yes, that’s totally possible. You can make a template override of the email.php template file and use the following one to add the ticket description:

    Indeed, there were a few small changes to the email template in Event Tickets 4.7.

    I’ve just updated the gist to make sure it works with version 4.7.
