Forgive me if options for modifying are listed somewhere in a guide as I have not found them or in settings.

Wanted to ask a about a few customizations. Not sure if this is part of Pro or the Community modules. We are looking to allow anonymous event submissions

    1. When viewing an event is there a way to get back to the cal besides the bottom arrow navigation
    2. We are giving communities an unbranded instance of our master calendar – http://www.sustainablecherryhill.org/south-jersey-sustainable-community-calendar/ When clicking on an event can we also goto an unbranded Event vs our site cal?
    3. add a ‘submit your event button’ on the main cal in any view. [Alternatively we could add a link to the unbranded cal page referenced above.]
    4. add/customize captions with labels or section headers i.e for Venue on the add an event page [ I did install the label mod plug in so in theory could use this but want smaller caption text or shown below the label?] Also add/modify text to the ‘submit event button’ at the bottom on this page? – http://www.sustainablecherryhill.org/events/south-jersey-sustainable-community-calendar/add.
    5. customize the thank you/confirmation page after submitting an event – http://www.sustainablecherryhill.org/events/south-jersey-sustainable-community-calendar/add
    6. send email to submitter when event is approved. I added Additional Fields so we are capturing email
    7. hide ‘additional fields’ on the Event display and only show this on backend i.e. when editing or approving. We see no way to really contact who submitted the event aside from event organizer field, event website or if submitter provides contact details in the event body so added the ‘additional fields’

    Thanks~

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for taking the time to reach out! While we’re unable to directly assist with customizations of this type, you should find all the information that you need to get started over on our Themer’s Guide! This guide provides a comprehensive list of all of our modifiable plugin templates, along with instructions and best practices for performing customizations. It’s a great resource to keep on hand for any custom development tasks related to our plugins! 🙂

I hope that helps to get you started here! Thanks again, and please don’t hesitate to follow up if you should have any other questions or concerns!

    Hi and thanks.

I did look at this guide prior and will use it for the labels and such but can you or someone from your team specifically advise if these items below are possible? I did not see them addressed in the guide. I don’t need the detailed instructions but guidance on their ability please.

    1. hide ‘additional fields’ on the Event display and only show this on backend i.e. when editing or approving. We see no way to really contact who submitted the event aside from event organizer field, event website or if submitter provides contact details in the event body.

    2. customize the event submission confirmation page for community events

    3. widget or shortcode for /add page as we want to give this to other communities w/o our site header, footer.

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for following up! Certainly–I’d be glad to see if I can point you in the right direction for these three items! 🙂

    1. If you’d like to prevent PRO’s Additional Fields from displaying on the front end pages for your events, you can use the snippet provided at this link to achieve just that! https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/hide-all-custom-fields/ Another option might be to restrict event submissions to logged-in users only–this will allow you to link back each submission to a particular user, so you’ll always have ready access to contact information.
    2. We do offer a small plugin that can be used to redirect users to a custom confirmation page of your choice after submitting an event! Feel free to give it a try, and let us know if it works for you: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/redirect-to-different-url-after-event-submission/
    3. Unfortunately, we don’t offer any widget or shortcode options for embedding Community Events forms at this time. If you need to display your submission forms on any third-party sites, you may wish to explore other options, such as embedding via iframe.

Let me know if you should have any other questions or concerns here! Cheers, and thanks again!

    Nice and thanks!

1 and 2 totally fit the bill and really help matters.

On 3 the add page as there is no widget shows the sites header and footer. If create a page w/o the themes header and footer and I user iframe you still get the native header and footer.

sorry one more thing, not sure if I was clear originally. Is there any way to customize the /add event page in Community (modify labels, submit button text)? Not seeing this in themer’s guide but maybe modding the file somehow?

    Hi Robert,

Great question! If you’d like to change the display of page elements such as theme headers on your Community Events forms only, we’ve provided CSS classes and PHP template tags that will allow you to do just that. You can get more information on these features and how to use them on our Knowledgebase here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/adding-custom-css-to-community-events-pages/

Let me know if you should have any other questions after giving the article a look over! 🙂 Cheers, and thanks again!

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
