    Hi,

I’m trying to customise the tickets.php file – copying it to the theme folder to make the changes.

What path should I use in the theme folder? e.g. theme-name/wootickets/tickets.php

Just in case this makes a difference, this is a child theme.

    Thanks,

    James

    Hi, James. That’s a great question! 🙂

You’re very close. You just need a /tribe-events directory under your theme. That means your path will be:
    theme-name/tribe-events/wootickets/tickets.php

This works for a child theme just like it would if you weren’t in a child theme.

For more info on where to put template overrides, please check out our Themer’s Guide, linked at right.

Let me know if you have any other questions! 🙂

    Hi Kelly,

Thanks for getting back to me – thanks for the correct path.

If there a filter that would allow me to use a plugin to do this? The site uses Genesis and a child theme – if possible I’d like to make all changes through a custom plugin to allow changes to the theme without needing to re-copy the changes.

    Thanks,

    James

Hi, James. Thanks for your question!

We recommend adding the folder structure to your child theme and placing the overridden template there. If you find a plugin that will allow you to do it there instead, you could certainly do that, but that would be a customization you would need to handle on your own. It may be that there are other threads in the forum where users do what you describe, so a search might prove useful.

Since it sounds like you’re set for now, I’m going to close this thread. Please open a new one if anything else comes up! 🙂
