GuestHi guys,
first of, comparing different event plugins, right now yours is looking like the best one for developers to adapt. Thanks for that.
Still prior of buying your plugin for a client website, I do have some crucial question. Our client needs a different “ticket” sale approach beside the ones you have. It’s more about requesting a ticket to an free-of-charge workshop:
1. The potential attendee should fill in a form with a couple of inputs and thereby stating that he/she wants to attend. (kind of RSVP – but only positive attendance.)
2. An E-Mail should be automatically sent to the attendee stating his request – without an actual ticket being sent.
3. an events admin should then be able to pick those attendees he would like to invite and send those the actual tickets from the admin interface – all others should get a rejected notice. So is it possible to code that kind of custom ticket provider on my own? Do you have those kind of hooks for me?
And would I need the Tickets Plus or is the free one enough?
Optionally: is it possible to restrict ticket providers to appear only with certain categories?Thank you in advance an best regards,

MemberHi Manou,
Thanks for your interest in our plugins!
You could absolutely code your own ticket provider: this is in fact what we essentially do ourselves with Event Tickets Plus, which builds and depends upon the framework provided by Event Tickets itself, adding several additional ticket providers.
With that in mind, you would not need Event Tickets Plus though it could certainly aid your development process by giving you an insight into how we do things ourselves.
Optionally: is it possible to restrict ticket providers to appear only with certain categories?
Though I haven’t seen a live example of this, I see no reason why it could not be implemented by a skillful and experienced WordPress developer.
I definitely feel I should remark that this is certainly among the more ambitious and challenging sorts of customization we are asked about – and you should know that even for premium customers we’d be pretty limited in terms of supporting such work – but everything you have asked about is certainly possible 🙂
I hope that answers your questions (and good luck!).

If we can help with anything else pre-sales related, feel free to open a new topic. Perhaps we’ll even see you in our premium forums if you purchase an Event Tickets Plus license!
