Custom Template for Category using Conditional Statement

I have about 10 event categories and they are all using the same page template “ecp-page-template.php”. Do they need to all use the same template or can I separate them into customized templates? If they must use the same template file than I want to put a conditional statement in the code to only display text X when the category is 287. My code here didn’t seem to work even though my event category is 287.

Hi Andrew – since The Events Calendar uses a custom taxonomy you will need to do things differently. If you search for conditional categories you should find another recent forum post on the same topic – hope that helps 🙂
