ParticipantI’m trying to create a custom role for someone who will just be able to work with events. I’ve set up the members plugin as i saw in another post on the forum. The admin panel seems to be fine, but I get a “The changes you made will be lost if you navigate away from this page.” when I try to save a draft or publish a post as the event-only user. I’ve also tried the Capability Manager Enhanced plugin with the same result. Any suggestions as to what permissions I need to add beyond the ones for events?

ParticipantIf I turn on edit posts in the user’s permissions, I don’t get the alert any more, but I can see all the other custom post types in the admin panel.

ParticipantHi Brian,
The user role I’ve created enables all the capabilities for the tribe events and no capabilities for regular posts and pages.
I see the alert message about changes being lost if I try to save a draft or publish the event.
Thanks

MemberThe roles and capabilities system is setup by WordPress we just connect into it so it I am limited in the amount of support I can provide.
I know in the past I have had a similar issue with custom post types and custom roles. Instead of creating a new role from scratch I started with the Author Role and removed all the capabilities I did not want them to have and that seemed to work better. There was an issue for some reason with starting with a blank role.

ParticipantHi,
Starting with an existing role or copying one did not work. I found the Adminimizer plugin which lets me hide the menus I don’t want this user to access.
Thanks,
