Custom Recurring Event Scenario, is it possible?

I have an event that occurs every Saturday 9am – 12pm from April – November. This also recurs every year.

I’m struggling to figure out how I would set this up as a recurring event, or if it is even possible. I see when I do Custom, and Yearly, that there are check boxes for months which seems great, but then the only options for “on the” are first, second, third, fourth, last. If that had “Every” selection I think that would do it.

Any help on how to configure this would be great! Thanks.

Hi Lora,

I think the easiest way to manage this would be to create separate chains of events for each year.

That’s to say, one set of events where each instance takes place Saturday 9am – 12pm (April through November), then a second chain for next year and so on.

Would that work for you?

Thanks Barry. That idea was my fallback. It is definitely not ideal, but if that’s the only way it can be done than it will suffice!

While it would certainly be nice to define patterns like the one you’ve outlined (and we do have some changes to the recurrence user interface in the pipeline) the flipside of course is that facilitating complicated patterns might mean a much more complicated interface.

So there’s something of a balance to be struck, and I don’t think in this particular scenario it represents too unreasonable a trade-off.
