ParticipantUnder the text box for describing a recurring event, the hint says, “Create a custom plain language description of the recurrance[sic]. Leave it blank and we’ll automate it.” I’m leaving it blank and nothing is being displayed.

ParticipantFor what it’s worth, I’m having this exact same problem. The options for custom recurrence (https://tri.be/pro-2-0-a-detailed-look-at-custom-recurrence/) are not showing up.

ParticipantThat doesn’t sound like the exact same problem to me. If the options don’t even show up, perhaps you need to verify that you’ve installed PRO.
The issue I reported is that the description is not being filled in automatically, but the options are all there.August 9, 2013 at 6:08 am #59666sdshields
ParticipantI’m sorry if I was unclear, but I understood everything you wrote and we are having the same problem. Take a look at the link I posted. We’re both seeing the hint you listed above, but what we should be seeing is a series of dropdowns. This isn’t something we’re going to be able to sort out on our own without someone from Tribe getting involved.

ParticipantI did look at the link you posted. I don’t think we’re having the same problem. The dropdowns are working fine for me. It’s the automatic creation of a description that isn’t working for me.

ModeratorIf you look at your events using the List view and click on the Recurring Event label, you should see the automatically generated pattern.

ParticipantI see it in the tooltip. However, there is no schedule displayed when viewing the event, which is contrary to what is shown at the bottom of https://tri.be/pro-2-0-a-detailed-look-at-custom-recurrence/

MemberHi folks. Thanks for reporting this on both ends, and my apologies that this slipped through the cracks. 10 days for an official reply is totally unacceptable and we’re sorry about that. Please know that we’re actively building out the team so it won’t occur again.
This is an odd issue, since I just tested locally using the official latest releases (3.0.3 TEC / 3.0.5 PRO) and I can confirm that on a Twenty Twelve install it works fine. Here’s what I’m seeing: http://d.pr/i/wLWu. Could your theme be responsible here, or something else that might be obscuring the existing automated/default tooltips?

ParticipantHi Rob,
The tooltip works fine for me. However, at the bottom of the page I linked to, the Schedule is shown as part of the single event view, which set my expectations for this feature. If that’s out of date and the tooltip is now the only place to see the schedule, then I guess I need to put in a request for the old behavior. Not only does it seem much more useful to the average web user, but tooltips are not helpful on a touchscreen.

MemberAh, that makes sense trevellyan – thanks for clarifying. I can see where you’re coming from there; yes, that post was drafted for 2.0 and we admittedly changed the “schedule” to be tooltip based for 3.0.
Interestingly you’re the first person to raise this point. I’ve logged it as a proposed feature for a subsequent release. I can’t guarantee it’ll be worked back into the plugin as a default setting, but it should definitely be something that is doable with a snippet or a custom template. Let me see if – in the interim before a decision on the feature itself is made – we can get you something along those lines.

ParticipantOK Rob, thanks for the update.

MemberStill looking at this. We don’t yet have any real snippet-like solution that’s particularly graceful, but are checking out other options that might work. I’ll keep you posted.

MemberHey again trevellyan! I have finally gotten you a snippet here that should help. This ought to add the scheduling data back into your single entries: https://gist.github.com/jazbek/6355989. You’d want to add this into your functions.php file.
You down to give it a shot and let me know your results? Thanks in advance!

ParticipantWorks for me, much appreciated, thanks.

ParticipantThat’s great news, trevellyan. Thanks for confirming.
I’m going to close this thread now, but please feel free to start a new one if anything else comes up.
