Custom Menu Sorting Through Category, Tags or Custom Field

HI,

We are using custom menu for different cities on our site. For post type we are using is_category function to set the custom menu for a particulate category. In case of events custom post, which filter should we use to filter the event’s city, we are using city name in tags, categories right now. We can also use custom field to sort the cities, please suggest. Our theme developer suggested to use is_theme function.

To clarify here, on your posts, you’re using the built in categories to assign each post to a city. From there, you check the associated city in the template to determine the menu that you’re displaying?

If so, you could try adding the default Category taxonomy to the events post type and use the same check. You could do that with the “register_taxonomy_for_object_type” function.
