Custom drop-down searchable feature

Hi there! I’ve been reading through this site and it actually seems like exactly what I have been looking for. I am creating a site that will list yoga-related trainings, lectures, workshops, etc. in my city. I want people to be able to search by type of event (i.e. training, lecture, workshop) and maybe also by month, venue, etc. I see that this plugin allows you to search by date, but can the search feature also be customized to be able to search by those other categories/fiels (month, venue, type of event, etc.)? If so, then this is definitely the perfect plugin for me!!! Thank you in advance for your help!
