Cindy
ParticipantHello,
I wish to use the CSV importer on a regular bases to import in events and I want to import fields that are not listed at https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/csv-files-options-and-examples/ I.E. Tags and Cost which I plan to re-lab per instructions located at : https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/change-taxonomy-names/
Is MT working at expanding the CSV importer so I could do this? Or is there a work around that I have not been able to find by searching?
Thanks

MemberHi Cindy,
That’s a n excellent question and I wish I had better news for you. We are working on expanding the CSV Importer in future releases, but I haven’t seen anything specifically for addressing Cost and Tags. I do think those would be super handy and it would be great if you have a moment and would be willing to add that to our feature request forum so it’s on our radar and we can look into it.
Sorry I don’t have better solution for you at the moment, but does this at least help answer your question? Thanks again for reaching out.
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Cindy,
I just posted a reply with a manual hack I did to try and solve this. It seems to work for me but may break for you. But great if we can build some momentum to have Modern Tribe work on the importer, it’s obviously top top top priority for all users! I mean TOP! 🙂

MemberThanks Karl! While we typically shy away from suggesting direct modifications to core plugin files, I totally understand why you’d want to go that route for a top priority. Good call to work in a test environment to test that work in advance. 🙂
Will this work for you as well, Cindy?
If you haven’t done so already, please add your votes to this feature request so you can stay in the loop as we make progress on this.
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Karl and Geoff,
Thanks for the info Karl! I will give that a try in the next day or so. I really appreciate any help because I’m a struggling newbie. 🙂
I’ll post back how it goes.

ParticipantKarl – I saw that you noted your site has tons of events, which mine will also have. Would you mind sending me a link to it so I can see how you have setup your calendar? I’m just starting to set this up and my brain hurts. 🙂 Would love to see how The Events Calendar is being used by folks with tons of events.
My email is [email protected]
Thanks!
