CSV Import – result log

I’m importing a large batch of events. Is there a “log” that I can view to see which events/venues/organizers have been updated or skipped? What I’m looking for does display on the screen prior to the “Import Result” (https://tri.be/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/07_Final.png) but the results for each event disappear within 1-2 seconds as the other rows are being imported.

I don’t believe so, but it’s certainly a worthy feature request and we’d be more than happy to consider it (if you want to post it on UserVoice).

One approach you could use in the interim is setting up your own custom logger, which could listen for events triggering the save_post action.

Thanks Barry. Was hoping that since the log/result for each item uploaded is already being displayed in the browser there might be a more straightforward way to view the data. I unfortunately don’t have the know-how to setup my own logger, so I’ll have to see what other workarounds there might be. Perhaps even a simple copy/paste will be possible if the page doesn’t redirect too quickly!

That’s certainly something you could investigate and see if you could leverage the same code – but it is unfortunately still something not directly supported at this time. We would absolutely be receptive to any feature request you might make, though.
