    Hello,

I just installed The Events Calendar and Pro on my site, and it seems like the CSS is being ignored. Here’s a link: http://artnewengland.com/events/2013-08-28/

    Hi Tyler,

Is this a custom theme / can you confirm with the theme author if a wp_head() call is in place?

    Thanks!

    Hi Barry,

Yes it is a custom theme, and I have confirmed that the wp_head()and wp_footer() calls are in place. Thanks. – Tyler

Hmm, how strange – I don’t see any of the usual styles and scripts that are normally loaded on event pages. I also note you are using jQuery 1.7.1 (our plugins assume jQuery will be a version that ships with one of the supported WordPress releases, all of which are more recent).

Do you find the problems only occur with this theme (ie does switching to Twenty Twelve fix this) or is it possible some other plugin is conflicting?

Hi Barry – I just updated the site to jQuery 2.0.3 but it didn’t make a difference. I haven’t tried switching to another theme because I’m afraid of what will happen when I switch back to my custom theme. Any other suggestions? Thanks

    Hi Tyler,

I think determining if the problem is with your theme would be the next logical step here – if you can’t or don’t want to do this on your live site then working locally or in a duplicate hosting environment would be a good way to go.

I just updated the site to jQuery 2.0.3

Yeah jQuery may not be the fundamental problem here – but I mentioned it because very often having an old or, in this case, very new version can lead to problems (no stable builds of WordPress currently ship with jQuery 2.0.3 for example, as far as I am aware – is there a reason you aren’t enqueuing the shipped copy of jQuery instead?).

The big problem here though is that The Event Calendar’s scripts and styles aren’t being delivered to the browser and very often that is due to an issue at theme level.

Regrettably not, but there are lots of freelancers and development shops experienced both with WordPress at large and probably specifically with our plugin, too – searching some of the online marketplaces for such developers may be a good way to go here.

Since we can’t offer too much more here I’ll close this thread – but I do hope you’re able to progress with the project.

    Cheers,

    Barry
