I see options for importing CSV files containing events and locations (venues) and they both appear to work great on my installation.

It doesn’t look like though that when an event is imported, even if it has a venue name that already exists in the database, that the imported event gets its venue/location cross-referenced.

IE: I just imported about 26 events, most of which had venue names that were venues already in the Events plugin. But I still had to go through each individually and reassign venues to each event.

Is there a better way to do that so if an imported event is taking place at a venue that’s already been created it gets assigned to it?

    Hello erionmedia,

Thanks for contacting us, sorry you are having these troubles!

I’d like to able to reproduce the issue, to better troubleshoot it. Could you send us your .csv to [email protected]? Feel free to add more info regarding which venues aren’t catching, etc.

Does this make sense? Let me know if I can explain anything else!

    Cheers!

    Hi Casey,

thanks for the response. I just tried sending those import csv files as attachments by email to [email protected] but I got the following automated reply:

    Hello erionmedia,

Sorry, you shouldn’t be getting that response, I’m not sure why you are.

Would you mind creating a paste at a service likeĀ http://pastie.org/? You can set it to private if the information is critical.

Our system doesn’t handle imported code and data well, otherwise I’d just have you upload it here, sorry!

After talking with a dev it seems like you should not have to manually link the venues, but we’re not entirely sure if that is a fully supported feature, or a bug that happened along the way. If I’m able to troubleshoot with your data I can come up with an actual answer.

    Sorry for the slow response!

    Cheers!

I just moved the csv files to a dropbox folder and shared access with [email protected]. Hopefully you can also access them at this link https://www.dropbox.com/sh/id4jue7k7umnpa3/AAAZSmCavykeKUy3pk2CzrbXa

    Thanks erionmedia,

I tried replicating it, but unfortunately (?) it worked ok. I imported the Venues first, then imported the Events. The Venues were attached to the Events with no problem.

You might have a plugin conflict, that might be causing the disconnect? If you use this tutorial, you may be able to discover the source of the conflict.

Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

    Cheers!
