ParticipantHi,
When I am on the the large calender view, I go to a month that has events in it.Then if I click the button “+ical Import Month’s events”, it downloads the ICS file. But when I open it in Outlook 2007 it says there are no events when I import the calender. I opened the ICS in notepad and no events data is in it.
This button works fine I’m in “list view” but not calender view.
Is this a known issue? I didn’t see any mention of it on the forums.
ThanksSeptember 5, 2013 at 6:48 am #64661Barry
MemberHi sherbert,
It’s not an issue I am aware of – you can see a functional example over here:
Have you tried running through our standard troubleshooting steps? Deactivating all non-Modern Tribe plugins and switching to a default, unmodified theme is a great way to test for conflicts.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantHmm… interesting. Ok yeah so I tried it on a different install I had and deactivated “all” plugins except the 2 calender plugins, regular and Pro and am on the 2013 wordpress theme. And it still does it. Maybe its because I have such such little events in?. No big deal, I can just remove that button from that view. If you want to look at it not working you can try it here and see what I mean here. http://petstress.net/sales/?post_type=tribe_events&eventDisplay=month&eventDate=2013-10

MemberHi Sherbert, this could be compounded by the fact that you are using default or ‘ugly’ permalinks. If you are able to do so, can you enable ‘pretty’ permalinks and see if that makes any difference here?

Thanks!

ParticipantHi Barry,
Thanks for the idea, still no luck. I enabled permalinks by post name. Didn’t help. So then I tried changing the theme to the default wordpress 2012 theme and that didn’t work. I didn’t really mess with anything else. I’m thinking maybe the issue is happening because I have the wordpress installed in a subfolder. The one you showed me that works is at the root. This is my new pretty link version that still doesn’t work, so you can see wordpress is installed in the folder “sales”. I can see that maybe causing an issue. http://petstress.net/sales/events/2013-10/September 5, 2013 at 2:20 pm #64764Barry
MemberI’m not sure that that (having it installed in a subdirectory) would impact, one of my own test installations lives in a subdirectory and the iCal output works perfectly.
Besides switching to a default, unmodified theme (and thanks for taking the time to do that 🙂 ) do you have any other plugins activated and have you tried deactivating them if so?

ParticipantOk it’s not the path. And yeah all plugins are off except the 2 for the calendar. I’m onto something… I just added an event in September and it now works but only puts September in the calender, not the October events. I’m running more tests now. I’m guessing its an empty field causing the issue. I’ll let you know if I find something more.

ParticipantI got it! It’s a bug, I’m pretty sure. Nothing gets exported from October 2013. The link you gave me one you gave me doesn’t work either. http://wpshindig.com/events/2013-10/
iCal import button from the large Calendar view and yours will import because you have stuff in other months. But go to October from your imported calendar and you will see no events from October are showing up. Like the October 28th event never gets exported. I’m using Chrome in case that matters.September 5, 2013 at 3:46 pm #64803Barry
MemberI think you’re right, something is definitely out of kilter. May partly be confusion over recurring events – in any case I’ll report this and we’ll aim to investigate and get a fix out in one of our maintenance releases.
Thanks for digging in and reporting this 🙂

ParticipantOk thanks sounds good. Not a big deal for me, I’m going to remove the button in the meantime and when it’s fixed I’ll put it bacl. Thanks
