ParticipantOur organization has historically listed events as blog posts. We’re now transitioning to The Events Calendar PRO, and our calendar is looking great! Unfortunately, we’ve lost the blog posts on the front page as a result. Everybody is updating the calendar now, but I’d like to still have the blog show our events.
I tried using the “show events in loop” feature, and that works, except for a couple of things. It’s displaying the next 24 events, which goes way too far into the future. We’d like to have only the next couple of events shown. It’s also displaying the date the event was created, not the date of the event, and since we use recurring events this is confusing and the date is jumping around. (Note: this is in the Hashi theme, which shows dates; Twenty Fourteen does not seem to.)
I also looked at the tribe_get_events KB article but I’m really not sure what to do with it to get what I’m looking for.
Is there any way to create events as blog posts so they will display properly in the loop? I’m currently doing a manual “coming up this week” thing but I’d love to automate this!
Thanks!

Participanti have the same issue with the “show events in loop” feature displaying the date the event was created, not the date of the event…the only way to avoid that is to specify a featured image, which could be an image of the event date…wouldn’t it be nice if ecpro auto-generated that;-)
but the [tribe_events_list] shortcode displays the next 5 events, which would replace ur manual “coming up this week” thing:-)

MemberHi there!
First of all, thank you for using The Events Calendar! I think I can help with this. Using ‘tribe_get_events()’ is a good idea except that you do have to be pretty comfortable with PHP to use it effectively.
Tom’s suggestion to use the [tribe_events_list] shortcode is definitely a solid idea. You can read more about the shortcodes here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions, I’m happy to help 🙂
Cheers,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
