Doug
MemberCurrently TEC supports showing the calendar grid per category but not the current day events listing. How could I go about creating that?
For instance I’d like to make it so clicking on a day link on the grid at http://site.com/calendar/category/catname would go to http://site.com/calendar/category/catname/2012-09-19 and only showing events for that category.
Seems like this would be a great feature across the board really. If I’m on a specific category calendar and click on a link to view all events for a day then it shouldn’t be including events that have no relevance to the calendar I was looking at. It’s confusing and detracts from the benefit of having separate categories.
Thanks for your help!

MemberLooks like a rewrite rule just needs to be added to the-events-calendar.class.php file. The following URL works fine at doing what I’m looking for but not with “pretty permalinks:”
http://site.com/calendar/category/catname/?eventDate=2012-09-24&eventDisplay=day

MemberOnly downside now is that the theme’s page template file has no idea now what the page title is so it says “Untitled.” Looking into fixing that now. Would be great if it would check to see if the page has a title or not and if it doesn’t it will use the category title.

MemberHey Doug – glad to hear you’ve been making some progress on this, and apologies on my end for letting it slip through the cracks…we generally try to hit all threads within 24 hours of being posted and we obviously failed you here. As such I’ve asked a member of the team to take a look first thing tomorrow to see if they can point you in the right direction…if they can’t, we’ll keep escalating it up the dev ladder until we can.
Stay tuned and thanks again for your patience so far.

MemberHi Doug! Something like this would probably require some care and attention to ensure that nothing else is adversely impacted upon … with that in mind what I’m going to do is log it as a feature request for one of the devs to look at.
It’s a solid idea and once a dev has had a chance to assess it I will update you with news of their decision – just be aware that this might take a few days.
Thanks for raising this and for your continued support 🙂
