ParticipantI have the need to filter my mini-calendar widget by category and found this thread helpful: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/making-the-mini-calendar-show-specific-categories/. But now I need two different mini-calendar widgets, each showing a different category. Can you provide advice on how to register/create an additional mini-calendar widget?
Thanks!May 8, 2013 at 3:11 pm #47953Jonah
ParticipantHi Ephraim,
I would suggest checking out this tutorial: https://theeventscalendar.com/how-to-completely-customize-widgets/
I hope that helps but let me know if you need anything else.

ParticipantThank you for your prompt reply! This is quite helpful and is working well!
However, I have an issue with Duncan’s hack to filtering the calendar by category and the topic is closed. My guess is that this was not set up to handle the ajax calendar too, because it filters fine on the first view and then creates an infinite loop of the category on every day on subsequent months. Any ideas?May 10, 2013 at 12:25 pm #48232Jonah
ParticipantHi Ephraim,
I would need to see visual examples of what you’re working with and then also code samples so I can try to figure out what the problem is. Can you share some of this? We don’t have very good code pasting abilities on the forum yet, so please post code here: http://snippi.com/
Thanks,

ParticipantHere is the modified calendar widget functions file: http://snippi.com/s/csv6mw6
– Modifications are only to the class name and to the ajax functions, which is probably redundant. And here is the modified calendar grid functions file: http://snippi.com/s/f1837qm
– Modifications to line 34 function tribe_calendar_mini_gridThanks!

ParticipantHi Ephraim,
Unfortunately, digging into the code I realized this is a bit beyond what I can help you with. We are implementing category filtering in the calendar widget in 3.0 which is coming out soon and this will make accomplishing this much easier. Do you want to try the beta out?
