    Event Calendar “Teaser feed”
    Guest

Is it possible to create another “teaser feed” to pull just 3 of the current events and display that on another page? There is currently a events page that displays 10 upcoming events with a photo event view.

On my home page I want to have a row that contains a “teaser feed” of upcoming events and limit that just to show 3 current events. This would not fall into the widget category as I want it to display horizontally and in the main content area not in a sidebar or footer.

I guess what I need help with is the short codes. Just learned that there was shortcodes avialable

Here is the current shortcode I stumbled upon making:

    [tribe_events_list limit=“3″ venue=”yes” city=”yes” layout=”horizontal”]

does not seem to work – layout=”horizontal”
is there a way to set the event view/default view to “photos”? limit=”3″ is not limiting the amount of events either.

    Hey there,

Good call. Shortcodes are indeed the solution here, and in fact there’s no other way to pull off what you describe.

The ‘layout’ attribute is only available for the tribe_this_week shortcode, so it won’t work for tribe_events_list.

Also, no, you cannot specify a view. The list widget and list shortcodes only provide the “list” view.

To learn more about the shortcodes and what options there are for each, check out this handy guide for them → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/

I hope the information above helps!
