Create a custom view that combines MAP view and MONTH view

Hi,

First of all thanks for the amazing work on the Events Calendar Pro plugin.

I have a question:

Would it be possible (and easy?) to create a custom view that displays a calendar in MONTH view + a MAP view bellow it at the same time?

If it is possible, how should I go about it?

Aw man, thanks for the kind words! We put a lotta heart into The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO, so I could not be happier to hear you’re loving it so far and I absolutely appreciate your support. Cheers to you!

Interesting question. I do think it would be possible to combine both Map and Month view into a single template. I have to admit, though, I have not tried doing so myself, nor have I seen a working example where someone else has attempted it, so I’m a little hesitant to say it would be “easy.”

That said, if I were to approach it, I would start with a template override of the Map View files, which you can find here:

/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/views/map.php

You can make a copy of that file and place it in your theme folder using the instructions outlined in our Themer’s Guide for template overrides.

From there, it will take some testing and custom development for sure, but I would likely start by trying to include the Month View templates where the Map View code ends.

Sorry I don’t have a detailed or concrete guide for you, but I hope this at least helps get the ball rolling!
