In the cost field of each event, we have a string such as “$150 Regular, $120 Members / Early Bird Through 5/25”. After updating to 4.1.2, all of our events now display the cost as a range, such as “$5 – $150”.

Any idea what’s causing that? Is there a special character in the string that causes it to translate to a range? Or is the cost field now just restricted to number values?

Hi. Please read our Creating an event article, starting at “Next, let’s look at the event cost fields:”

This field is a numeric field, not a string. It’s apparently trying to interpret your string as best it can by snatching all the numbers from your string.

To get the cost range display that you might have seen on other sites, you’d need our Event Tickets Plus plugin to add multiple different tickets and then the “$120-$150” range will be displayed accurately and automatically.

    I hope this info helps!
