I would like to assign users to do the check-in for certain events. As for now editor/contributor and author can check-in users in all events.

Thanks for getting in touch with us on this! I can help you here 🙂

By default the only validation to allow a QR code checkin is that the user is logger in and can edit posts. You can override the default checkin method with your own using the snippet below:
