ParticipantI have been using Easy Digital Downloads – with the The Events Calendar: EDD Tickets plugin.
Using that, I created tickets to multiple events.
When I installed Event Tickets Plus – I got a message that says that to begin using the new plugin, I need to disable the old one. Fair enough — but then the event pages where those tickets were created generates an error message.
So I reactivated — and function was restored…. but of course I can’t use the new system.
Is there something I need to do to preserve or import the data that was created using the old EDD Ticket plugin? I’d like to use the new system, but I need to know how to handle already scheduled events that had ticketing set up.
I looked in the Knowledgebase and tried to find something written for those of us who are now migrating from the old to new system….. but if a set of instructions exists anywhere, I can’t find it.

Thanks for reaching out! I’ll help you out doing the transition from old to new ticketing plugins.
We have a new knowledge base article describing the process: Moving to Event Tickets Plus. Please take a look into the article and try to follow the described steps.
I recommend you doing this migration in a staging site to test everything works as expected

ParticipantThanks for the prompt reply. Even though I followed those steps, I was still getting an error message — but that turned out to be because I am using a child theme with a modified tickets.php template.
I’ve got it all working now and have made appropriate modifications to the new template. In my case the modified template is /eddtickets/tickets.php
It might be helpful to others if you would simply list the essential templates which have been modified in that article.

Stocked to hear you could successfully migrate 🙂 All are changes (including templates) are noted in our Things to be aware of in version 4.0 of The Events Calendar, The Events Calendar PRO + all add-ons article, but I’ll suggest to link it from the upgrading article as well.
