Concerts List Widget Translation

HI,

I’m using the Concerts List widget to display the upcoming events on my frontpage, and, I can’t find the place to translate the “View More…” button where I’m in french.

I installed the WPML plugin to translate the website. Everything is up to date.

Hi Thierry,

You mean the Events List widget right?

I believe that string has already been translated in our French translation (to Voir plus) and if you configure your site to use French it ought to be transformed as expected.

WPML may be the complicating factor here, however. Can I ask: if you deactivate WPML and ensure your site is set to operate in French, is it correctly translated then? (I realize that may not be a practical solution – but I want to ensure the problem is as I suspect).

I turned off WPML and the View More still appears in english.

OK – but are you positive you’ve configured WordPress to work in French (assuming that’s your language of choice here)?

If I visit the standard WordPress login screen at wp-login.php everything is still in English which makes me think you may not have configured the language settings.

Yes, that’s why it’s strange. In the front end I have both languages, but in the front end, it’s only english it seems.

So what I mean is, conventionally and assuming you are not using WPML for the moment, if you have correctly configured WordPress to operate in French then even the login screen (/wp-login.php) should show in French.

That isn’t what I’m seeing when I look at your site so that suggests you haven’t set things up correctly… perhaps the following resource will help to explain things in more detail?

I understand your point, and it seems I have an issue with the theme I’m using as when I switch to a basic theme, the admin is in french. I doubled checked I have the WordPress package in french.

I think I’ll solve that problem first with the theme and then come back if it persists.

Ah, I see.

No problem – hopefully you figure things out with the theme (sounds like a pretty odd problem!).

What I’ll do is close out this topic – but if the issue does persist and you need further help from our end, please just create a fresh topic and reference this one if it makes sense to do so 🙂
