ParticipantHi,
I have Event Calendar PRO and Community Events installed.
For some reason the users that are registered are not able to Edit or Delete their submitted Events. When they login and click an Event that they have submitted, there is no Edit or Delete button available. Only when I login as Admin in the backend and view Events I get the chance to Edit or Delete, but I need to be Admin to do it.
I have checked that logged in users are allowed to Edit their submissions and Remove their submissions.

MemberHave you/they tried doing this through the list page? By default this would be found at site.com/events/community/list … in the case of your site it is the URL in the following post.

ParticipantHi Barry,
thank you for your reply!
I tried that but it did only show “View” beneath the Event.Maybe I have completely misunderstood something.
The users that have registered at the site, have the role as Subscriber. Would this have any impact on the Community Events plug-in or does this plug-in handle its own “access rights”?Sincerely,

ParticipantHi again!
I think it solved it and figured it out! 🙂
It seems that I’ve been incompetent about WordPress the user roles and capabilities. Now I understand that Community Events and Events Calendar PRO are using the roles and capabilities in order to steer what a user can do and not do, based on the existing roles and capabilities within WordPress.I downloaded a plug-in with the name Capability Manager Enhanced, and added the following capabilities for Event; Edit published.
And under Additional Capabilities I checked “delete tribe Event”.
Now, my users having the role Subscriber, can Edit and Delete their Events. They are not able to delete other users Events.Maybe some expert in this arena can confirm that I found a solution that is the way to do it, or have I overridden something that actually should work “out-of-the-box” in WordPress and Events Calendar PRO with Community Events?
Thank you!

MemberGreat that you’ve solved it 🙂
What I can say is that with WordPress and The Events Calendar/Community Events running “out of the box” users don’t normally experience any problems here, so it does sound as if editing your user roles and capabilities was at the root of the problem.

ParticipantThank you Barry!
Well, I admit that I have been testing things back and forth with different plugins to get different functionalities on my WordPress site and even though I have removed/deleted many of them, who know which of them might have modified something which caused The Events Calendar/Community Events to not work with the out-of-the-box of WordPress.
When my testing and configuration of WordPress and it all is done, I will put it into production doing a clean install of it all. 🙂
Thank you again for your efforts and willingness to help out!
Sincerely,
AndreasApril 11, 2013 at 12:37 pm #45581Barry
