It appears that Community Tickets via Events Ticket Plus when paired with WooCommerce to have tickets does the following:

    • When adding an event through Community Tickets, it uses Simple Product (virtual) to create the tickets. When there are multiple tickets for an event, it creates multiple WooCommerce products and list them as separate products on the store. This can lead to confusion for users. This happens when entering an event via WP’s admin screen as well. Perhaps using a variable virtual product may be a better route.
The image uploaded for the event or the tickets doesn’t also get uploaded as the product image in WooCommerce. This results in a blank picture product display when doing a global search in WordPress. To get a picture to display, it has to be added manually via WooCommerce.
To help fully connect with WooCommerce, the event screen for tickets should allow to choose a WooCommerce Product Category and ability to enter tags to give full integration.

    Hi Thomas,

Thanks for using our plugins and reaching out with suggestions for improvement – we always like to hear what users would like implemented in future releases!

We have had several users ask about allowing product variations, and we actually have a request open for that right now over in our Feature Ideas forum. If you would cast your vote for it over there, we would really appreciate it! This is what we use to gauge user interest in new features and help plan for future development.

You are correct that the ticket image is not automatically set to be the featured image on the WooCommerce product (the ticket image is used for all of the tickets created on an event), and tickets do not currently have any tags or categories unless edited in WooCommerce. I like both of these suggestions though, and again would love it if you could post these in our Feature Ideas forum!

At the moment, each of these features would require custom code. If you’re interested in giving it a shot, we do have a themer’s guide with some great info on customizing our plugins. We do not currently do customizations, but as a premium license holder, you have access to our premium support forums. We are always happy to answer questions and help point you in the right direction over there! So please let us know if you have any questions on anything.

    Thanks again for the suggestions!

Jennifer, with all due respect, those issues I cited aren’t features that need implementation, they are bugs that should be fixed.

    Hi Thomas,

Since the plugins are actually working as intended with regards to the functionality you mentioned, they are technically not bugs but new feature requests. I understand that they aren’t working exactly the way you would like them to, but unfortunately your best bet on getting this changed is to submit or vote on feature requests.

Regarding WooCommerce, we are looking into ways to integrate more so that tickets can take advantage of more of WooCommerce’s features. You mentioned setting the ticket image to be the featured image in Woo – each event currently has only one ticket image that applies to all of its tickets, so there are several issues that come up with setting it as the featured image in Woo. One of the main ones is handling changes to the featured image on individual products…with the current setup, this would cause problems as the tickets could all have different images in Woo, but only one within the event.

If you do post in our features forum, this is a great reason to add as much detail as possible. The more insight we have into how users would like (and expect) it to work, the better we can implement it the first time around.

Does this make sense? I wish I had a better answer for you, but we really would appreciate your feedback. We would love to implement every request we get, but since resources are limited, we have to take the amount of interest for each request into consideration.

If you have any questions on anything, please don’t hesitate to ask!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
