We’ve had a few community events submitted end up with information in the event venue and organizer fields, but incorrect info everywhere else. It will set the dates to 1970 and display something like the following example:

Event submission: CIKvzG tpmbukazmgjp, exeshlzclumy, [link=http://rcrirwosqmwb.com/]rcrirwosqmwb[/link], http://trqegnwoncum.com/

Description: CIKvzG tpmbukazmgjp, exeshlzclumy, [link=http://rcrirwosqmwb.com/]rcrirwosqmwb[/link], http://trqegnwoncum.com/

It’s only happened on about 5 events of the dozens we receive every day. Any idea why?

    Hello chapelboro,

I can help you out with that.

It looks like they are SPAM posts.

We are working on adding Captcha to the plugin, but I do not have a release date for it.

In the meantime you can add by using the Really Simple Captcha Plugin.

    And then using this coding:

Let me know if that helps.

    Hey, Brian!

Thanks for the response. I don’t know that they’re spam posts, however, because the submission info always indicates they’re being sent by actual organizations in the area. The organizer and venue fields are correct and seem legit.

How strange, are people reporting any errors to you?

Usually when you see a date of 1970 it is because it is not a correct date in the field so I just assumed SPAM as someone is putting text in there.

Are these always the same Venues and Organizers that getting these errors, or does it appear to be random?

Let me know and I will think of something else.

    Thanks
