ParticipantHello!
Having an issue with the Community Events Plugin and WordPress.
When the plugin is activated, I can’t login in the WP-ADMIN backend. Basically it dumps me into the home page and I can never access the Dashboard. In order to regain access, I have to disable the plugin via changing the plugin name folder using FTP access and that is a MASSIVE pain in the ass, since it means I literally can’t do any development without disabling the plugins. Then I have to re-activate them or rename them via FTP and hope that it works.
Hopefully you can provide some insight and a solution… I’m currently devloping the new site for my client on my localhost server, I need to get this design ready to launch in about a week. Please advise ASAP. Thanks!
Using WordPress 4.2.2

ParticipantHi Christina,
I’m really sorry to hear about the problems you’ve been having – there are indeed occasional issues with Community Event’s redirection, and indeed several types of sources of the problem that make it hard to pin down sometimes.
For your specific issue here, for now:
1. Can you start by posting a screenshot or something of your “Access Control” settings for Community Events? Here’s a screenshot of mine, for example → https://cloudup.com/cs4Ex4EzQuY
2. Could you then head to Events > Settings > Help, then pasted your whole block of “System Information” info into a Gist at http://gist.github.com? Once you do this, you can share a link to that Gist with us here and we’ll take a look at it.
3. Finally, for now, if you disable all “restriction” options there, so that it looks basically like my version of those settings, how do things behave? I’m just curious, and if so then we can at least narrow down the source of the problem to some weirdness with the configuration of these settings.
Let us know if you can do each of these steps, and what you find by doing them if so.
Thank you!

ParticipantSo just rebooted and after enabling all setting like shown in your image, still no admin/dashboard access.
Will disable and re-enable plugins again so i can continue working.
Really hope we can sort this out and quickly. I have a website to deploy! 🙂
Thanks.June 2, 2015 at 1:44 pm #966700George
ParticipantThanks for the system information and the image Christina.
I’m curious though, can you elaborate on what you mean by rebooting your computer? Are you literally rebooting the actual laptop or desktop computer you are using? If so, there is no need to do this. It won’t affect anything here.
As for your image, it seems that the “Block access to dashboard” button is still checked → https://www.flickr.com/photos/studiowerx/18279238681/
Just to be clear, if you un-check this option too, in addition to the other options you un-checked, do you have any better luck accessing the dashboard?
Thank you for your patience!
George
