    Hi,
I can’t seem to solve an issue with my events/community/add permalink. When I try to edit the permalink it won’t accept the forward “/” slashes. I’ve been linking from the text on an “add event” page as a workaround but I really want to link directly to the “add event form”
    Thank you,
    Michael

    Hey there Michael,

It’s great to hear from you! Welcome to our community. 🙂

The Community rewrite slug should be a single word because the forward slash will append to the permalink automatically. For example, if you change “community” (which is the default) to “team”, your community event URLs would be:

    http://yoursite.com/tec/events/team/add
    http://yoursite.com/tec/events/team/list

Let me know if that helps sort things out.

    Kind Regards,
    Jami

    Hi Jami,
I assumed it was the missing “/” in the permalinks of my post to calendar page that was keeping it from linking to the add events form. I’ve tried every combination but it won’t link. I’m left to use linked text on my add events page to get a user to the form, what am I doing wrong?
    Thank you,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

I’m more than happy to help get this sorted out. Can you let me know where you’re trying to add the events form link? Is this in your theme’s navigation menu? I can see the link working brilliantly here:

I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Kind Regards,
    Jami

    Hi Jami,
Yes, the link works, I’ve been using it in my workaround to link to the text on that page to get users to the add event form, however, the “events/community/add” path does not take a user directly to the form. Please try it, you’ll see the path, but it’s not linking. The “/events” link does work on the “…community calendar” page — so what gives? I must be doing something wrong? Thank you for your help.
    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

Thanks a million for your patience. I can see now what you mean. The link you’re having trouble with is in the navigation at the top labeled “POST TO CALENDAR”.  And the link it’s generating is stripping out the forward slashes like this:

    http://www.yourwebsite.com/eventscommunityadd

Can you go into a little more details about how that link is getting added in your WordPress menu system? This system is located at:

WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Menus

I tried to re-create this problem but wasn’t able to. Here are the steps I took:

    1. I copied the add event link that’s provided in Events > Settings > Community
    2. Navigated to Appearance > Menus
    3. Selected “Custom Links” and pasted the link in the URL input area
    4. Added the link text “Add Event” and click “Add to Menu”.

When I check this link in my navigation, it’s functioning as expected.

Can you be more specific about how you’re adding that link to the navigation at the top?

I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Kind Regards,
    Jami
