ParticipantI was wondering if someone might be able to help? I have emailed Morden Tribe twice but I have receive no reply.
I currently have The Events Calendar (free) Plugin installed on my site, along with the Community Events Add On. My Community License has recently expired and soon after, I started to experience problems with the community event submissions form.
The front end submission form is displaying ‘server error 500’? However when I login wordpress as admin and view the page with the shortcode form embedded, I am able to view form, which seem to be working fine. The problem only appears if I change roles to editor, author or subscriber, non registered users are also getting the ‘server error 500’ notification.
I am using the ‘Unlimited Membership Pro’ plugin (from Codecanyon) when this is deactivate, the form shows on the front end again and seems to be working fine?
I have flushed permalink, reinstalled both UMP plugin and the community events plugin, which has not solved the problem. I noticed a few people on the support form are experiencing problems with the new community events update 4.0.4.
I downgraded the community events to 4.0.1 to see if that made a difference… it didn’t!
I check the error logs and it is displaying as string of warnings:
I have check error logs and I am getting this message: WordPress database error Unknown column ‘wp_postmeta.meta_value’ in ‘field list’ for query SELECT DISTINCT wp_posts.*, MIN(wp_postmeta.meta_value) as EventStartDate, MIN(tribe_event_end_date.meta_value) as EventEndDate FROM wp_posts LEFT JOIN wp_postmeta as tribe_event_end_date ON ( wp_posts.ID = tribe_event_end_date.post_id AND tribe_event_end_date.meta_key = ‘_EventEndDate’ ) WHERE 1=1
I have reverted back to the wordpress twenty fourteen theme and them problem is still there!
If someone could get back to me as soon as possible I would be most grateful, it has been 7 days since I sent the first email to the support team.
I look forward to hearing from you

MemberGood evening Hannah and welcome back!
We are sorry to hear about the issues you have been encountering with the Community Events.
Just to set expectations, as you might suspect, unfortunately we do not provide support over email.
Furthermore, premium plugin support is offered only to our customers that have active licenses. With that in mind, the extent of my support can only be fairly limited in your specific situation.
That being said, error 500s usually stem from a problem with a corrupted .htaccess file or from a plugin that handles roles and capabilities (such as Unlimited Membership Pro). Although I cannot support this plugin, I am pretty sure it uses the .htaccess file to do its job.
So in short, based on your tests, you have confirmed that the issue has nothing to do with the Community plugin (and reverting back to the older version of the plugin is actually responsible for the DB error messages you got).
My recommendation would be to leave everything the way it was before and to either:
- Check the settings of Unlimited Membership Pro
- Flush the .htaccess and recreate it
- Contact the plugin author
- Change for another roles plugin such as Members
Since this is not a pre-sales question, this is as far as we can take the support on this topic.
We do wish you the best of luck 🙂
I will now close this thread.
Thank you for your understanding,
Geoff B.
