Community Events and WPML

Hi,
I’m working with a client to move their Events calendar from another (antiquated) WP plugin to the Tribe Events Calendar. We run a bilingual (FR, EN) WordPress site and have been using WPML for several years. We were quite smitten with your calendar, and purchased the Pro version right off the bat, only to learn afterwards that the Pro module has not been fully integrated with WPML yet, so Recurring Events do not display properly in the 2 languages. Tant pis!

Question: when’s your ETA for making your Community Events add-on WPML compatible?

Thanks for reaching out and for the kind words about our plugins.

I’m very sorry about the frustrating lack of Community Events add-on compatibility with WPML! 🙁 This is something we are hoping to finishing in the coming months, but I unfortunately do not have a specific ETA.

It is not something that would be fixed by the end of this month, for example, and will likely not be fixed in February either. I unfortunately do not know the plans for things beyond that.

Please let me know your thoughts here; I’m sorry that I don’t have any more specific ETA information. If there’s anything else I can help with, let me know.

Thanks for your swift reply. I do have several questions about best ways to work-around the gaps that currently exist in your WPML integration, with both the Events Calendar Pro and Community Events modules, but I’ll take them over to the tech forum.

As for my pre-sales question, I think what you just told me (I’m extrapolating) is that we should probably not be looking for a WPML compatible Community Events module until… I’m guessing end of the year, since you don’t even have it penciled into your schedule yet.

We’re very much looking forward to the completion of that work.

Unless you have more to add on the subject, you can close this thread now.

Thank you for the reply here @Nyna, and for being polite despite the bad news about our WPML integration 🙁 I’m really sorry the integration is not better at this time, or won’t be in the near future!

We are very excited about adding better integration, too, so definitely do stay tuned to http://theeventscalendar.com/blog and to your own plugin updates in your site’s wp-admin dashboard. If there are improvements in this area, they will be mentioned in the “Changelog” of the release they are part of.
