I had the submit your event running very well, then I accidentally deleted the darn thing. I am trying to fix it so I can get people posting again but the slug is broken. These are the links posted in my software: http://allekiskicalendar.comcommunity/add
http://allekiskicalendar.comcommunity/list
Do you see where the .com and community are merged? Nothing comes up. And if I put in a forward slash, it gives me a 404 not found. Please help. I need to have the ADD form fixed so the community can post events.December 15, 2014 at 7:04 am #918512BrianKeymasterHi,
Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help troubleshoot this with you.
Not sure what the slash is missing between .com and community so lets start with this.
What is your setting in the admin of your site on this page:
Events > Settings > Community Tab
For this field:
Community rewrite slug
Is it still just community?
Also, for a place to start, please follow our 404 Error Guide and see if that helps anything.
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/troubleshooting-404-errors/
Let me know what you find out and we can go from there.
Thanks

December 16, 2014 at 9:07 am #919958cgarwriterParticipantOkay…bear in mind that I don’t know php at all. I went in to the settings tab and reset the permalinks to the post selection. I saved the new setting. It took. I closed my browser and reopened it to start fresh. I went back into the Events > Settings > Community Tab like you said and the slug still says community as the slug. However… When this was working before, I could access a direct url of the post community event that is used by outside folks to input their events. This link used to be http://allekiskicalendar.comcommunity/add But notice that after the dot com the community slug is right up against the dot com without andy / or . separating them. It was okay before the most recent update. Now the input form is gone. This is terrible for me since this is a community calendar and I am not able to service my community. I used to get 1000 hits a week before changing over to this calendar. Now I’m lucky to get 800 a month with all the trouble I have had getting this to work correctly. Can you please help get this solved soon? I have screen shots of what happens if I insert my own URL fix like inserting a slash or period in order to see if it works. If I take the url in the setting and add a slash I get the 404 error. If I put in a period to separate the dot com from community I get a webpage not available message.
Thank youDecember 16, 2014 at 9:24 am #919989BrianKeymasterSorry for the issues you are having.
I am not sure how this link would ever work:
http://allekiskicalendar.comcommunity/add
That is a completely different website when using a link like that.
This is the link we want to get working.
http://allekiskicalendar.com/community/add
Since it is a 404 error, but the guide did not help can you please follow our testing for conflicts guide:
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/testing-for-conflicts/
See if my following that you can narrow down the issue.
Also, please make sure you have no pages Community as their slug.
Let me know what you find out and we can go from there.
If you would like to share screenshots you could you could place a link in dropbox or something else and place the link in a private reply here so only we can.
Thanks

I know this. But your upgrade created the link above. It DID work prior to the upgrade and did not have the mistake you and I both see. I did not create this. The calendar program did with the new upgrade. That is a completely different website when using a link like that.
Why is it posted under the community settings? This is the link we want to get working.
http://allekiskicalendar.com/community/add
Yes, I agree. but when I insert the forward slash and try to go directly to the url, I get a 404. This path was chosen by the upgrade. I have a screen shot showing you this and I merely copied what I saw under the community link.December 16, 2014 at 10:11 am #920074BrianKeymasterOk so the next step is still to test for conflicts since no other customers are reporting this issue it is has something to do with your hosting, theme, or plugins causing the issue.
The testing for conflicts guide will help us find that. Can you please follow the link in my last post to the guide and then we can go from there.
Thanks
December 16, 2014 at 10:30 am #920091cgarwriterParticipantI haven’t changes any plugins since prior to the upgrade. Can you furnish the direct URL to my form? Until you are able to fix the direct URL link on the Events/Setting/Community I don’t see how any plugin problems can develop. I see the problem right there on the community settings. What can we do to fix that? The program did this. Until that link is fixed, why open another can of worms?
December 16, 2014 at 10:31 am #920093cgarwriterParticipantI am hosting this via Go Daddy.

December 16, 2014 at 1:00 pm #920254BrianKeymasterI took a look at your site and I apologize I was looking at this wrong.
The correct link for the community Events on your site is this:
http://allekiskicalendar.com/events/community/add
I tested that link and I am able to see the form there.
Are you seeing that link work for you?
