Since the latest update the user submitted community events are being published straight onto the calendar without approval. This is happening when I select the option:
Default status for submitted events: Draft or Pending Review. The event goes into drafts but also appears on the calendar but only on the month view.
July 12, 2015 at 7:33 am #985704AngieParticipantWhen I say month view I mean this view:
http://ipscene.co.uk/events/2015-07/the events can be seen on this view without having been approved but cannot be seen on any other view.
Please can you take a look as we really need to approve events before they are published.July 13, 2015 at 6:01 am #985808GeoffMemberHi Angie! Welcome to the forums and sorry for the trouble here with moderating event submissions.
That’s very strange. I wasn’t able to recreate the same issue on my test site. Doesn’t mean it isn’t an issue, but it does make me wonder if there is a setting or some other conflict here that we need to uncover here together.
First off, I see you noted having tried the following:
Deactivated all other plugins? Yes
Switched to a default theme? YesDid you happen to notice any difference in those conditions? How about when switching to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Fifteen) and deactivating all other plugins together? Any difference there?
Let’s start there and see what we find. If we don’t find anything there, would you be ok with me submitting an event to your site so we have something to test with together?
Cheers!

I have deactivated other plugins & I have tried it with the twentyfifteen theme but I still have the issue.
I have set up a staging version for you to test:
http://ipscene.staging.wpengine.com
I have submitted 2 test events on here (one with my theme activated & another with twentyfifteen). They should be held for approval but they go straight on the calendar but only when you view the calendar by selecting the month. Both event are on 28th July. You can’t see them here:
http://ipscene.staging.wpengine.com/events/
but if you go to August & then back to July you can see them published:
http://ipscene.staging.wpengine.com/events/2015-07/
I have also noticed that they are a lot of other events in July that are not being shown on this view. For example here you can only see 1 event on 29th July:
http://ipscene.staging.wpengine.com/events/2015-07/
but there should be 11:
http://ipscene.staging.wpengine.com/events/The month view is not showing all of the events & there isn’t even a link to view more. But you can see all the events when you look at that day.
I’m happy for you to submit events to this staging site.July 14, 2015 at 8:44 am #986290GeoffMemberHi Angie,
Thanks for the staging site and additional info–that’s SUPER helpful and very appreciated. 🙂
I just tried submitting a test event for July 15.
I don’t see it in Month View:
http://ipscene.staging.wpengine.com/events/…or in List View:
http://ipscene.staging.wpengine.com/events/2015-07-15/I also am not able to access the URL for the event itself:
http://ipscene.staging.wpengine.com/event/modern-tribe-testDo you see the submission in your Pending Drafts queue?
Cheers!
GeoffJuly 14, 2015 at 8:44 am #986291AngieParticipantYour test event can be seen published if you go to the events calendar, click on August and then back to July and you can see it although some of the other events are then missing on this view.
July 14, 2015 at 10:31 am #986352GeoffMemberAh, there we go! That was the missing step I needed, thanks!
That does indeed seem to be a bug. I’ve ticketed it in our system and will follow up with you when we have more progress or news to share. Thanks so much for reporting this–I really appreciate the heads up. 🙂
I’ll set the status of this thread to Pending Fix for now.
Cheers,
