ParticipantHi,
I just noticed that comments no longer show up on the single events.
I tried the fix outlined in here,
https://theeventscalendar.com/fix-for-enabling-comments-after-3-1-update/
And here,
but none of them worked.I am using a customized single-event.php file that’s located into my theme folder and I’ve copied over the updated comments code from the latest version 3.4 but it’s not working.
Can you please, help me get this working?

MemberHi @elmalak,
I’m sorry you’re hitting problems here.
I can’t see any problem locally using a clean installation and note you tried deactivating all other plugins and reverted to a default, unmodified theme. Can you confirm which theme you reverted to and if this had any impact on the problem, or if it allowed you to isolate the problem to an issue with your theme/another plugin?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi,
Thank you for getting back to me, but this issue appeared recently after one of the plugin updates, comments used to show up normally before as this is not a new site.
So, can you please, help me figure this out.Regards,

MemberWe’d love to help if we can.
Please visit your Events → Settings → General admin screen and confirm comments are enabled: if they are, try disabling them – save the change – then enable them again and resave.
If that doesn’t help, let’s try to identify if there is a conflict since if I’m understanding you correctly it sounds like you have not yet carried out the above mentioned troubleshooting steps – with that in mind the next set of steps would be as follows:
- Please ensure your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date (it sounds like they are)
- Deactivate all other plugins
- Switch to a default, unmodified theme: I’d recommend Twenty Twelve
Does the problem still occur? If not, can you try reactivating the components of your website one-at-a-time and see if the problem comes back – taking note of whatever you activated when the problem does return (if it does return).
Thanks!

ParticipantHi,
Thank you for your tips.
I just noticed that when I use the Default events template under Display settings, comments show up but when I used the Full width template( which I need) they disappear.
What does that mean?Regards,

MemberHow about the Default Page Template – does it function as expected when that is in use? If it does not, can you confirm if it is a problem with Default Page Template and a default theme such as Twenty Twelve or Twenty Thirteen? It’s possible the problem may be specific to your theme and its own templates.
Thanks!

ParticipantThank you for clarifying, I will check those and see what’s causing this problem.
