I would love to help you with this topic.
I am not sure if you know, but there is a workaround available for that glitch (until the fix is released).
You could simply downgrade the Community Events plugin.

Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point.
But stay tuned, you will be contacted when the fix is released.
On a different note, nice catch on the instructions! I will have that updated.
