ParticipantKind of a “best practices” question: What seems to be the most common way to close an event after it has passed? Do users normally just delete it? Or is there a handy way to close an event off and archive it?

Thanks for reaching out to us! I’ll help you here…
So I guess there’s no particular action to take when an event has passed. Our plugin add’s a notice in the single event page stating that the event has passed and if the events has tickets for sale, the ticket form is removed. Also it the events listings previous events are not visible upfront (or they appear with low opacity for example in month view).
Do you have any particular concerns on this?

ParticipantThanks for this response. It’s not a critical performance issue, so I can figure out a plan that works for me–likely deleting the event so I don’t have to live with clutter. However, I’d be curious to see what other users do in this regard. If I “post a thread” and ask this question, will it be seen by the broader EC community? Or is that the same as posting here?

MemberSounds good Paul! I guess the website can be a good events archive, and as upcoming events always show up-font I guess the users won’t be distract by past events.

Yes, this thread is visible to the community in fact and anyone can comment. I suggest you post this to our WordPress.org support forum to get other users opinion. As we support our free/core version there, the community is bigger and often users help each other and jump into threads.
