GuestI’d love to know if the Events Calendar plugin will allow me to show a very basic/simple month view calendar (with arrows to navigate to the next/prev month) that simply displays (1) the days’ numeric dates which are (2) clickable and (3) when clicked allow me to display (somewhere) a simple to-do list style listing of the events scheduled for that day (by time). The functionality should be very much like a to-do list or a clickable student’s class schedule.
Is this something the plugin can do out of the box? If not, is there a premium plugin that can accomplish this? If not, are there suitable filters, action hooks, and class methods/properties to utilize the plugin this way?
Thank you!

GuestPS, when the date is clicked I would like the to-do style event listing for that date to display *on the same page*. Thank you again!

MemberGood afternoon Gordon and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.I’d love to know if the Events Calendar plugin will allow me to show a very basic/simple month view calendar (with arrows to navigate to the next/prev month) that simply displays (1) the days’ numeric dates which are (2) clickable
This is very much what our Events Calendar widgets offer (http://wpshindig.com/event-widgets/). You should get a copy of our Events Calendar Pro add-on to get that.
(3) when clicked allow me to display (somewhere) a simple to-do list style listing of the events scheduled for that day (by time)
As you can tell, out of the box, the look is not one of a to-do list.
But, the good news is that you can customize the look exactly to your liking. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

GuestGeoff, thank you very much for the reply and the helpful links! Looks like with some simple style and markup edits that it is possible using the widget you linked to.
I do have a followup question: is it possible to create either actual separate calendars or the appearance of separate calendars? For example, one calendar for to-do lists in Nevada and another calendar for to-do lists in Oregon? Perhaps two widgets that end up filtering events by state which is in fact a tag/category?
Thank you again!

MemberHey Gordon,
Thank you for writing back.

Yes you can. Filtering by category is the way to go here.
You are welcome back on our support forums any time 🙂
For now, I am going to close this thread.
Have a great week!
