ParticipantHi Guys,
In an attempt to increase site security I would like the ability to remove the “Please log in to view your events” text and associated input fields (image attached) and replace it with Clef’s login shortcode
Can you please guide/signpost me to the relevant files I will need to edit etc?
Obviously I need to ensure that once the user has successfully signed in with Clef that they are redirected to “My Events”
Am I making sense guys?
Thanks,
Justin.

MemberHi Justin:
Great question!
What we’re actually doing here is using the standard WordPress login form (and registration link):
Both are customizable. The registration link for instance can be altered using the register filter hook and various filters are available for the login form, too:
- login_form_top
- login_form_middle
- login_form_bottom
With some creativity (and possibly a touch of CSS to hide any elements you cannot modify via those hooks) you could probably get your desired login form in place.
It’s certainly a relatively advanced customization, though, and one we’d largely need to leave in your hands (though I hope these notes help).

ParticipantHi Barry,
Thanks for this BUT where do I access these files?
Would they be within the duplicated folder placed within our theme as advised by the knowledge base?
It is my understanding that there are WP plugins available to customise the register/login pages but I still don’t understand how that would apply to what you suggested above or how remove the links/text boxes on the event calendar.
Remember, i’m still a newbie to your plugins & WP moving from Prestashop.
Any specific guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Justin.

MemberHi Justin!
I appreciate changes like this aren’t for everyone, but we are limited in terms of how far we can go in supporting customizations of this nature.
The important thing to understand is that – wherever possible – you should avoid directly modifying core WordPress or plugin files and use actions, filters and overrides instead.
It might be in this case the best and safest way forward is to engage a dev (if you follow that link you’ll find a list of folks who, while not affiliated with Modern Tribe, are good developers and craftspeople and who will probably be able to assist further) to do this work on your behalf.
Again, I’m sorry we can’t provide more in-depth support for this one – but some customization and integration work is simply beyond the scope of what we can offer.
